Welcome to Ashland High School!

Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,

Welcome to Ashland High School,  Home of the Grizzlies. It is an honor to serve a community that believes deeply in the power of education, connection, and purpose. At AHS, our vision—“Inspiring Learning for Life”—guides every aspect of our work. We aim to cultivate a school where curiosity thrives, passions are discovered, and every student feels empowered to grow academically, socially, and personally.

Our identity is also shaped by the enduring legacy of Coach “K” , whose message continues to resonate throughout our campus:

“We love and care for each other.”

This philosophy lives in our classrooms, hallways, and fields, reminding us daily that learning is rooted in relationships and in the strength of our community.

Ashland High School offers a wide range of programs designed to spark student engagement and success. Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways give students hands-on, real-world learning in areas such as manufacturing, digital media, computer science, business, culinary arts, preparing students for college and careers alike. We are also proud of our strong Advanced Placement (AP)offerings, which challenge students to engage with rigorous academic content and develop skills that will serve them long after graduation.

The arts are a cornerstone of our identity as well. Our exceptional Band and Orchestra programs inspire creativity and community, while our storied Theatre Program—home of the AHS Thespian Troupe—continues a tradition of thoughtful, compelling, and student-driven performances that enrich our school culture.

Beyond academics and the arts, AHS offers an impressive array of student clubs and organizations where every student can find belonging, leadership opportunities, and meaningful connections. Whether rooted in service, culture, academics, activism, or shared interests, these groups help students build relationships and deepen their engagement with the world around them.

Our legacy of excellence also extends to Athletics and Activities. Grizzly teams and organizations have long modeled dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship, representing Ashland with pride and distinction across countless seasons.

All of this is made possible by our remarkable faculty and support staff. Their dedication, expertise, and care create an environment where students are known, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We are grateful for their commitment to our students and to the values that define the Grizzly experience.

Thank you for being part of Ashland High School. Whether you are returning to our campus or joining us for the first time, we look forward to partnering with you in building a future where learning is joyful, relationships are strong, and every student can thrive.

With Grizzly Pride,
Dr. Francisco Lopez Atanes
